Aiden Kansas City Downtown

The Mutual Building, 1919 — 405 E 13th Street, Downtown Kansas City

The Mutual Building has stood at 13th and Oak since 1919. It reopened in September 2026 as Aiden Kansas City Downtown, built on what this city already is — railroads and industry, in that order, with the Art Deco kept where we found it. Bistro on Oak at street level, a fitness floor and business center, transit-inspired lighting down the corridors, distressed leather, terrazzo, brass and deep blue tile. The original bank vault is still in the building and guests walk past it, because tearing it out would have been easier and worse.
